Welcome
Welcome to the Chaos Theory website!

Overview:
Chaos Theory is a Rift guild on the Belmont server.  We are a very large guild and continue to grow daily. We accommodate many casual players as well as those interested in raiding. While we aren't a hardcore raiding guild, we do make goals to progress through content every week. Our focus is to play with people we enjoy and present many options of things to do whenever you play!

Mission Statement:
We want to help any of our members accomplish what they want to. We want our corner to be filled with people that are respectful and fun to play with.

Organization:
As of today, we have an open recruitment for members. All casual members may join and take full advantage of vent and guild events. As we have many members interested in raiding, our ranks reflect the desire and stats of each member.

Raider Rank:
As said, we aren't trying to be super hardcore about raiding but in order to do things there are some qualifications and steps to take in order to become a raid rank. We do want to put our best foot forward and take the best team possible. If you would like to become a raider, please speak to an officer so you can be invited to raids. Below you will find the criteria for becoming a full time raider.

Observation Period:
Once you express interest in joining the raid team, some raid officers will spend some time speaking with you and observing how you play. This may be in the form of just chatting, watching you on a training dummy, T2, raid rifts, guild chat.. This period does not have a specific time table but it ends once the officers decide if you are or are not what we are looking for.

What is expected of a raider?
• Must be registered on the forums/sign up for raids.
• 200hit/focus for T1 raids. Generally almost complete T2 gear is optimal. T2 gear should also be enchanted.
• Plan to attend. Raiders need to sign up on the calendar, and are expected to be there on time unless they notify someone. If you sign up and don't show up, you'll lose a finger. If you aren't attending many raids, don't expect to be invited. If you sign up for a raid and something comes up, there is the forums, in-game mail, vent (also on iphone and droids), so there is not really an excuse for not letting a raid officer know that you won't be attending dinner.
• Be online and ready 15-20 min before the raid start time.  This gives time to get any items ready, invites to go out, holes be filled, and decide what to do based on the group. We want to get as many bosses killed in the time we have, not waste time for people to finish a T2 or raid rift.
• Must have Ventrilo and at least be able to listen to the raid and directions.
• Must be able to take constructive criticism. We collect a lot of data and do a lot of research (so you don't have to!). There are only 1 or 2 specs per role that are the best and we need you to be one of them.
• The raid leaders know how to do the fights and do their best to explain how to win. They are not dictators, they are simply explaining or designing the most effective way to down the boss. As tweaks are made, make sure you do them.
Currently our loot system is set by a loot council made up of the raid leaders there. Items need to be classified by role or class and then you may be asked to /roll if you want it, need before greed. Many raiders already have multiple roles, and will be receiving gear for both roles. In a pug we must just /roll however the pug needs to know that the role they perform at that time is considered their spec. Just because they tank 75% outside our raid doesn't mean they get tank gear.
Pay attention and make even trades with other members/raiders. If you can make armorsmith enchants, make them for tanks and maybe they can make you potions or weaponsmith enchants. Fights are a lot easier if we take advantage of temporary buffs, but they are expensive.
